• Think of a 'quick write' or 'think, pair, share' that the students can engage in to bridge their personal experiences with the project goal.  For Cinco de Mayo have them write about a time when they celebrated a major holiday and what was the meaning behind that holiday.

• What will this activity look like for the students? Will they divide into groups or pairs or brainstorm in writing individually? Divide into pairs, each student writing their own experience and then sharing with their partner, then talking to eachother about their writing and finally later sharing highlights with the whole group

• The idea for a project is to take the writings of understanding from each reading and manifest it into an original work. Each student can make a photo essay sharing their knowledge and experience for a parent film night.
• Describe the post production of the work.  Create advertisement, teach students how to use "photoshop".

• How will the students present and promote their projects?  They will advertise to family, students, staff and school community. 
• Who will they present it to?  How will you promote the event? The students will present to the whole school community.
