A word from the District Librarian regarding student research…

Don’t miss out on accessing the virtual resources right at your finger tips through the OUSD Library’s pages:

  • Go to Http://ousd.k12.ca.us and click under Students & Families tab to go to all of the OUSD libraries: Select your school under the proper group heading and take a look at the online resources available. At minimum you should see K-12 Encyclopedia Britannica Online. For Middle and High Schools you should also see Teen Health & Wellness Online, and Gale’s Student Resource Center [Infotrac]. In addition this fall watch your visual page to see a myriad of ebooks that will be added. Passwords are needed so be sure to ask now.

  • There is unlimited simultaneous usage and access 24 hours a day/7 days a week to use these ebooks and all of the databases.

  • Get your students in the habit of using authoritative databases and ebooks for their research, complete with citations they will need and links to the CA Standards that corroborate your teaching.

  • Feel confident that you can make an assignment and your students will have the resources they need.
